About Me

Traveling for 2 months through Europe was an eye-opening experience. It has made me more attentive to culture and philosophy, and has made me excited to know how foreign people conduct their affairs.

I love art, music, and I wish to learn more about it. I also like talking about politics, I’d like to learn more about history, and also learn more about other world cultures. I’m also a spiritually-oriented person, and I like to practice mindfulness, yoga, and sports (hiking, running, cycling)

I love to talk about anything. I’m open to listening… and I like cooking with others. The best memories I have are when I cook with others and then we enjoy a meal together.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m particularly attracted to old and fermented stuff, classic and well-regarded films and works.

Classical Music: Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Prokofiev, Mozart… love symphonies and concerts ! and piano programes.

Books. A few things that interest me are:
Philosophy. Sherlock Holmes. History. Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace. Kafka… Spanish Literarure like Garcia Marquez… among other things.

Movies: My favorite directors are Lee Chang-Dong and Park Chan-Wook. I also love all of Kubrick, especially Barry Lyndon. I’ve seen all of Sion Sono and some Kurosawa… I love Asian cinema. I’ve seen quite some older classics from 1950 to 2000, from all over the world. Nothing beats a good Criterion film in the afternoon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been studying classical piano for the last 10 years. This has made me love classical music and all other arts, and has given me fondness in my heart to appreciate the art I find on the everyday, much like a Vermeer painting.

A few important things I’ve done before:

-> I’ve taken a walk everyday and I’ve appreciated the skies of every single day. Each day is precious and unique.
-> I’ve also participated in Chess competitions and can play you game of Chess.
-> I’ve participated in piano competitions.
-> I know how to improvise classical music on the keyboard.
-> I like just going around town or the woods and getting lost in the moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a bit about Mexican culture, stories about people and events in Mexico. I could share food recipes. Also talk about pretty much any topic (i.e. education, politics, music, films). I’m someone who loves deep and long conversations lasting for a few hours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my language and some stories - I’m kind, clean and servicial. Hope to make a good long-lasting friend along the way!
