Words have the frustrating ability to distort, misrepresent, euphemize the actual.

I'll have a go at this anyway:
I think. A lot. Though I'm not sure how in the world I just quantified that, but worrying about a pending brain implosion might be a symptom of "overabundant thinking". Although I'm bursting with questions and quips, I'm striving hard to be a good listener. Which I've learned recently doesn't merely mean staring intently, waiting your turn to speak, as your mind cries out, "Are you done yet? Now? Okay, that was more like a definite I'm-done-talking period, but you continued like it was a coma or semi-colon, I'll let it slide this time. NOW ARE YOU DONE YET?" A good listener is also someone who doesn't mind allowing the conversation in without getting her piece said. I want to be a good listener. I _will_ be a good listener. For now, rest assured that you have my constant, wavering (I am human, after all) struggle towards this goal.

PHILOSOPHY

Yikes. I'll have to think this one through. My life is quite a contrary one. Like the dieter who strives to eat salad but finds herself with a pint of ice cream for dinner.

I'm a self-denounced dilettante. So far, I've managed to induce people into thinking my hobbies were/are: photographing non-people, writing anecdotes and grievances, doodling (formerly "drawing"), website design, reading amusing novels, avoiding reading books I want to read but don't because its contents of philosophy, religion and politics dampen the spirits a bit, watching movies alone, so very, very alone, and loafing around.

It's slow-going or pending, but I'm trying to learn knitting, screen printing, yoga, and ceramics.
