ABOUT ME

I’m from the Netherlands and I live in Berlin. Currently I am on a motorcycle trip in the US. Here's a bit of history.

After a really good couch surfing experience in Uganda I decided to update my profile once more. After that trip, I have hosted people through the platform, not just only through friends. I have had the pleasure of meeting some really great people

In 2011 I have been in East Africa for research. I finished my work and my degree in August and I looped around Lake Victoria. Afterwards I made tracks to Cape Town, passing through Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa. In autumn 2012 I started hosting, and received a dozen people in Amsterdam. Since then I have lived in Boston, Utrecht, and Berlin, doing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, and I wasn't in a living situation where I could host guests. Now that I have moved to a different house in Berlin I will be able to host if we can find an agreement with my flatmate.

In general, I go with the flow, not too fussy and will see where the road takes me. Keen on trying new things, such as food, sports, activities, cultural experiences, or something I've never even heard of. I enjoy reading a book, going to gigs, hiking, taking photographs, meeting new people, taking a break from the daily slur, going out for lunch/dinner, cooking up some grub and large cook-outs.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed a bit here and there, and it is the first thing I look into when traveling. I enjoy meeting new people who can show me around when I'm traveling, or whom I can show around Berlin and share my experiences with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in the States, India, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi! Hosted on several occasions; couples, groups and individuals. All unique and great experiences!

I enjoy a good film, one that moves me, or keeps capturing my attention, or puts me on the wrong foot.
