Experience about the natural world, trade languages and bake the best brownies your oven has ever seen (unless you're a chef, then teach me something cool).

I host when I can and have slept on a lot of couches through couchsurfing and otherwise. I've had nothing but great experiences meeting people with all sorts of world views.
