About Me

I'm an elementary music teacher who loves anything to do with kids, music, writing, movies, and food. I'm also a composer and amateur video producer/editor. I love building relationships and being a part of people's lives--a big part of why I want to be a teacher and also why I'm on this site.

I share a house with my fiancé and a male friend of ours. I also have the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet named Twyla. We love making new friends, sharing stories, and vibing late into the night. We are also 420 friendly 😁

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet new people, experience new things. My partner and I love to travel, and we prefer to experience new places with the people who live there, rather than hop from tourist trap to tourist trap. We crave unique experiences, and are willing to share our time and space with others who like to do the same!

Interests

All things music. If you listen to something I've never heard of--show me and tell me about it. I promise you I want to know.

I also like making stupid movies that I think are funny and uploading them to YouTube. Making videos and video editing is a small hobby of mine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, but I'm especially partial to soundtracks, indie pop-rock type stuff, and musicals.

Movies: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Baby Driver, Mary Poppins Returns, Knives Out

Currently reading several different books at the moment, but I tend to gravitate towards the fantasy and sci-fi genres when I'm reading fiction. I also enjoy reading books about queer issues -- like the intersection of faith and sexuality, and nontraditional relationships (highly recommend the book "The Ethical Slut").

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taught music in India and English in Cambodia.

I've also procrastinated writing a seven page paper up until three hours before it was due and still turned it in on time.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you stay with me, I have a wide assortment of instruments at my house that we can play around on! My partner is a great cook, so we'd be happy to share meals as well. We're very open, so if you're curious about something, just ask! :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter, lakes, and late night games and drinks.
