About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see everything, do it all, and make one-million seven-hundred-thousand and forty-two new friends.
ABOUT ME
I love traveling. I meet with such amazing people and have all sorts of unexpected adventures.
Here's a link to a photo album of mine:

I have a Mayan Hammock I can use for a bed if you have a place to hang it.
PHILOSOPHY
"If you are going to lose, lose your heart. If you are going to gamble, gamble with your life."
--Spoken by a rough old Spaniard
I do my best to stay open and learn from whatever happens. I like to assume I can handle whatever comes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I couchsurfed a lot for the first six months I was traveling. I haven't been doing it since, though I'd like to get it back into my travels some.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed in Canada, Maine, and Yale (Staying in a genuine Yale girls dorm!) I also once walked along the street in Athens Ohio offering to pay people to stay in there appartment. Someone said yes, so I stayed his and his roommates house for two nights. I've hitchhiked and during that I stayed with people I met. It was wonderful. Meeting such a varied group of people is one of the things I enjoy most about traveling.
On weekends I like to pitch my camping hammock in the woods, by a river or stream if possible. That's called ForestSurfing.
On July 4th I slept on a huge sand dune overlooking a lake with fireworks all around it. That's called SandSurfing and is about as close as I think you can get to combining CouchSurfing and surfing.
Interests
When I was in Austin I signed up for unlimited dance lessons -- did Tango, Salsa and Swing! I read a lot (or I did before I began traveling...) I enjoy writing. I've done a lot of personal growth stuff and have some experience with Chi Gung, NLP and Massage. During my life my interests have jumped around a lot, so I have a bit of knowledge on a bunch of different things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've read a lot of books. I like the classics. Jane Eyre, Count of Monte Cristo, Great Expectations... I've also read some great autobioraphies: The Strange Lives of One Man by Ely Culbertson, The Moons a Balloon by David Niven. The Mobster's Cookbook is good.
I like lots of music. I'm fond of classical. I like some Folk. Spanish guitar is beautiful.
I watched the movie The Producers again recently. It's very funny. I like any good picture.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling the world!
Teach, Learn, Share
Puts Heaven to Shame Granola Bars
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup puffed rice cereal
1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
1 cup unsweatened almond butter
1/2 cup light maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup chopped dried fruits (of choice)
Variation: Dried coconut and/or healthy chocolate chips
1. Spread oats, almonds, puffed rice and wheat germ on a sheet pan and bake at 350 degrees F. for 10-12 minutes, or until almonds are fragrant and lightly toasted.
2. Place almond butter, maple syrup and salt in non-stick saucepan over medium heat until melted (stir frequently)
3. Place oat mixture in a large mixing bowl. Add warm almond butter mixture, vanilla and dried fruit. Mix well.
$. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with waxed paper. Press mixture in firmly. Refrigerate 3-4 hours, then cut into squares.
Storage: These bars will keep in the fridge for more than a week.

I've studied just about everything a little bit. I'm good with financial stuff. I worked in computers for a while, no expert but give me long enough and I can figure out how to do get them to do what I want. I spent a while in toastmasters and if you want help with public speaking, I think I can give useful advice.
I can teach you two badass songs on the harmonica. They each last a whole 20 seconds. Whooo!
I think I would like to learn to swim. I can wave my arms to keep myself afloat in calm water, and that's the best I can do :) (UPDATE: I did in fact learn to swim! I have trouble breathing -- it's over-rated -- but I can do it and am mighty proud! Now I want to go snorkling.)
