COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good!

Interests

I like more things, or am at least mildly interested in more things than I can name. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none. I like computers, motorcycles, good beer, bass guitar, red wine, nature, good laughs and a sense of humor, video games, art, good stories, good books, electrical engineering, snow boarding, skate boarding, surfing... Honestly even if I don't share common ground, I'm always up for learning new stuff and haven't a problem with objective thinking or playing the devils advocate to keep things interesting. However, if you lack a sense of humor... we're gonna have a bad time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Tarantino & Kubrick = Cinema Gods, I like a good comedy, slap stick or otherwise... step to the streets, she's all that, 2 fast 2 furi... I'm kidding, those movies are all shit.

Music: Bobby Timmons, Explosions in the Sky, Parliament Funkadelic, Otis Redding, Real Estate, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Mooncake, Bill Withers, Bonobo, The Cinematic Orchestra, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Say Anything, Dispatch & State Radio, The Black Keys... really I like all types of Soul, Jazz, and Blues... except for that crazy Jazz... where it feels like everyone is playing a different song at the same time, I can't dig it.

Books: I usually have my head buried in a technical manual or some sort, be it computers, electrical engineering, motorcycle related knowledge... when I do break from the learning game I've recently read "Outliers", "Ender's Game", "You're Not So smart", "Stranger in a Strange Land", and "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". I usually juggle books on my Kindle so I'm currently reading "1984", "The Pragmatic Programmer", "CODE", "Blue Highways", "Walden", and a couple others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a real walking contradiction. A lot of people think I'm crazy because I attempt to explore any interest that peaks my curiosity but it's always led me to a good time and good stories. I've jumped out of planes, off of cliffs, surfed in hurricanes, broke horses, hacked computers (legally... for work), and just... explored whatever life has given me the opportunity to do so.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like talking science, classical or otherwise, I'm no scientist I just like to look at the world around me and figure out how it works and then talk about it. I find that talking about it, either having things explained to me, or attempting to explain them to others really helps mature and solidify understanding on all kinds of topics.
