Overview
About Me
My name is Chadley and I have a hard time describing myself. I spend way to much time cooking and eating, but I don’t think there is a better way to learn about the world than through its food.
My favorite things to do are have drinks with friends (while cooking at home or in a pub) and contemplate our fascinating world.
Tourism can change the world. I am trying to help us better understand what that means. Professionally, I advise on, research, and write about rural tourism development.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in the power of community. I travel to meet the world, to understand the world. I'm inspired by others' diligence in sharing their lives and delving into the lives of others.
When departing from everyone I meet, in every corner of the world, I invite them to come visit me someday. I open my couch to them or their friends. I hope to have a friend in every corner of the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
Constantly exploring new music, movies, & books. Tell me your favorites!
Music I listen to ranges from The Avett Bothers, Band of Horses, Coheed & Cambria, El Ten Eleven, Gojira, George Strait, Sigur Rós, System of a Down, Sparklehorse...in other words, a bit of everything.
My favorite movies are those that make you feel, whatever the emotion may be - happiness, sadness, intrigue.
I need to step up my book game...lately it has just been cookbooks!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent 4 days under a tarp alongside the River Thames. I met 4 elderly women, 3 Brits and a Scot, who let me join them in waiting for and watching the Queen's Diamond Jubilee flotilla. We met a friend that brought us breakfast every morning and stayed with us after work for wine and whiskey. I was interviewed by a British newspaper reporter and was quoted in the paper the next morning. One of my favorite memories.
