ABOUT ME

My personal description can arguably be summed up by my list of interests, but a few things aren't included in that list that I can still jot down here. I enjoy speaking with friends more than dancing with them, which makes my usual social venue a coffee house or pub. I study chemistry, German and philosophy at ECU and enjoy all three of my majors, though not in that order. My work ethic is arguably my best quality, but I'm hoping to change that to the quality of my thoughts. Oh, and as a side note: I have a pretty good sense of direction and I enjoy laughing at punny humor.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything is an assumption, even that is an assumption. I am rather confident that good arguments can be made for hard determinism (but not on a microscopic level), the non-existence of God, and that human nature and humanity are close to a contradiction in terms. I hope that the human race will have a bright future but I'm not very optimistic.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had one couch surfing experience in Ottawa and it was absolutely amazing! I had a fantastic time exploring a new setting and listening to the French language in the background. I met some awesome individuals and had an absolute blast talking about languages, music and - of course - philosophy.

Interests

I am passionate about my interests (philosophy and music) and I enjoy a good cup of coffee and a good discussion. I speak German fluently and want to speak French so that I can read the works of Sartre in their original form. I write a little on the side and love reading Calvin and Hobbes (as well as quotes from my favorite philosophers). I also love taking long walks and smoking my tobacco pipe (with actual tobacco, not weed). And humor too is an important of my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moment One: I pulled the greatest prank at a summer camp called Ridgecrest. I played Michael Jackson's "Thriller" over the intercom of the camp waking almost everybody up at one in the morning.

Moment Two: I couldn't convince a German girl that I was American after speaking in German with her for two minutes.

Moment Three: Arriving back in the United States after a year of studying abroad in Germany.
