About Me

Hi there! I am a graduate student living in Boston. I have little to no idea of what I will do with my life after that but I know that I don't want to stay in the same place for too long. In my free time I love to read, write, cook, and be in nature. I've long wanted to add traveling to that list and I am now starting to do exactly that.

I'm very easygoing, sometimes shy, but love meeting people and hearing their life stories. I grew up in an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community (some would say cult) in New York, so I have some wild stories to share myself. I grew up living a very different kind of life than what most people are used to. Now that I'm an adult, what interests me most is learning about different ways of life and all the possibilities that are out there for how to interact with the world. I can't think of any other way of doing this than traveling and meeting people from all over.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mostly to meet people I would otherwise not meet. To make lifelong friends. I want to have a friend from every part of the world before I die.

I'm a solo traveler but believe the best way to travel is by meeting locals and other travelers. I enjoy doing all the touristy things, but that can get old real fast, and I'd much rather learn about what every-day life is like in the places I'm visiting. I also want to be able to help others who are traveling in my city whenever I can and meet people from other parts of the world who are passing by.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading about history, philosophy, nerdy stuff. I've historically enjoyed various niche subgeneres of metal music, but I like branching out and learning about new music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once spent 4 months backpacking in the Uinta Mountains in Utah, with absolutely no connection to the rest of the world. And not by choice! I did learn how to build a fire with rocks and wood, which might still be one of the coolest skills I have.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you (for some reason) have any interest in learning Yiddish, I'm your person!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation. I'm always happy to help with house chores (you can thank my mom for that). I will literally do all of your dishes. I will happily cook for you (you can thank my mom for that one too). Depending on how light I'm travelling I'll usually have some cheesy memento/souvenir from my city to share.
