Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m chaima Salhi, a 25-year-old pharmacist from Algeria with a deep love for travel, culture, and human connection. I’m passionate about science, healthcare, and making meaningful impact in people’s lives — but outside the lab or pharmacy, you’ll probably find me drawing, hiking, or bonding with animals (especially cats!).
I’ve visited Tunisia, Poland, Germany, and France, and I dream of exploring more countries while connecting with locals in genuine, non-touristy ways. Couchsurfing is my favorite way to do that — not just to stay somewhere, but to live and share with people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe the world is full of kind souls and amazing stories — and Couchsurfing helps me find both. I'm here to meet open-minded people, learn about new cultures, and offer the same in return. Whether I’m hosting or surfing, I’m always respectful, curious, and happy to help however I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
📚 Books:
I’m passionate about psychology, self-development, and books that help me grow or understand people better. I love exploring how the mind works, and I'm always curious to learn new things — especially through self-learning and personal growth books.
🎵 Music:
I enjoy Coldplay’s emotional and poetic songs, as well as African beats that bring energy and rhythm. I also love Algerian music, especially traditional styles that carry deep cultural meaning and connect me to my roots. Music for me is a way to feel, remember, and celebrate life.
🎬 Movies & Documentaries:
I’m a big fan of true story movies, historical films, and science fiction. I enjoy watching stories that are either real or make you think deeply about what could be real. I also love nature and animal documentaries — they remind me of how beautiful and complex our planet is.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are three moments that really shaped me:
First, I had the chance to do a research internship in a biotechnology lab in Poland, working on testing the anti-cancer activity of new compounds. It was an incredible experience that deepened my love for science and showed me the power of international collaboration.
Second, I’ve spent a lot of time taking care of stray and sick cats near my home. Helping these vulnerable animals regain trust and health taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of kindness in everyday life.
And third, I took my very first solo trip at a young age. Traveling alone taught me independence, confidence, and how open the world can be when you step out of your comfort zone. It was a powerful experience that ignited my passion for travel and meeting new people.
