It's an easy way to meet new nice people with same affinities when travelling (or not)
When living in Madrid 5 years ago, I made several friends from CS with whom I spent my time and who still are friends today

I went to meetings in Paris to meet new people
disfruted of it in Brest, Strasbourg and Romania
undirectly hosted when I stayed at a friend's place in Paris
went to one meeting in Berlin, Lviv and to the braderie de Lille
