PHILOSOPHY

"Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well."
Jack London

Alain Finkielkraut

"Be master of your petty annoyances and conserve your energies for the big, worthwhile things. It isn't the mountain ahead that wears you out - it's the grain of sand in your shoe."
Robert Service

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Some people think CouchSurfing is about saving money while traveling. They are up the creek big time! I think it’s the right way to really discover the places you visit because you are in touch with locals that can give you good advices on what to see or not. Who better know the place than people living there?! We all have little secrets about our place we are open to share with nice people... It’s also a great place to make friends all around the world. Therefore, I'm disposed to host one or two couchsurfers for a couple days.

Since CouchSurfing is about sharing and discovering, we usually try to bring local specialties to our host as a contribution to our friendship. If we are coming to your place, don’t be shy to let us know your preference about Quebec products!

Centres d'intérêt

I consider myself as an environmental-conscious urban dweller and I believe in small individual actions to reduce our ecological footprint. Living in the city, I often need to escape the pollution, the work stress and the crazy-drivers-who-donâ

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I try to read as much as I can. Unfortunately, the more I read, the more I feel like I haven’t read anything... Here are some authors I like (in no particular order): Jack Kerouac, Jack London, Fedor Dostoeïvsky, Isaac Asimov, Félix Leclerc, Ernest Hemingway, Donna Tartt, James Ellroy, Robert Service.........

I have played bass in a francophone punk band for almost 10 years, so my influences are mainly from this style of music (I mostly listen to indie and underground music). That having been said, I always appreciate good music; there’s nothing like going to a gig, enjoying real people playing real music! I hate the music stars and the lifestyle behind it.

I almost never watch TV. There are good things and bad things on TV, but it seems like the worse part is taking over the rest for me... No need to convince me, I do enjoy my few spare time cooking yummy lentils soup, reading some subversive stuff, walking around my neighborhood, taking care of my garden or having a beer someplace with my friends.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Experiencing what was the Klondike Gold Rush of 1897-1898 on a 4 days hiking journey through the giant open-air museum called Chilkoot Trail (Alaska to Canada).

Realizing there’s a giant aurora borealis in the sky while picking raspberries in the dark near Havre-St-Pierre (Québec).

Walking for 4 days in the Sahara desert with two dromedaries and a young Moroccan nomad.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I'm a true enthusiast of homemade products and DIY stuff. I'm no Jack of all trade, but I like to share ideas and learn tips from others. It's a great way to learn, reduce waste, save money and, most of all, gain self-confidence! It's by far the best solution to step aside our consumer society!

Pays que j'ai visités

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States, Virgin Islands, U.S.
