Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Tidy up my place so that I have always a couch available...
ABOUT ME
Always hate this part as I think my friends can describe me better
I'm a social, honest girl with a lot of intrests, might be a bit shy in the beging. Apart from travelling I like to read, listen to music (rock, indy but also classical), watch movies, get to know people and other cultures etc. ect.
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe Diem
The past is the past, the present don't last and the future is in your hands
Threat people the way you want to be treated
Give everybody a fair chance, never refuse to talk to someone 'cause you don't like the way he/she looks or something like that. You only miss the opertunity to get to know a great person
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Meetings, host from time to time...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been a member for a couple of months so it's time for an update
* 29 December Planckendael meeting
* 25-26 August went to the Maanrock meeting in Mechelen and had my first surfer Raphael.
* Last weekend of July: tried to go and see Die Hard 4 with some couchsurfers but the weather was so nice that we never left Guys and Inez, where we met for an improviesed lunch.
* Brugge meeting in July
* Graspop metal meeting last weekend of June where apart from good music also met up with some fellow CS members
* Picnic in the park of Brasschaat followed by a unplanned meeting in Rotterdam. The picnic was my first meeting, followed by the 2nd one the same day, so I took a real good start...
Interests
Almost everything apart from soccer/football
* Reading, always love to hear about some must reads, love mystery books and historical books the most. Read from time to time the so called chick lit, not really my style but always fun to read...
* Music: to my own surprise I had a great time at Graspop metal meeting in June. So it seems like my musical taste goes from metal to opera, rather broad, with a preference to good old rock and roll, singer/songwriters and opera...
* Traveling: want to make a bit trip every year, this year it'll be Burma/Myanmar, next year no idea yet, sometimes it seems the world is just too big...
* History and culture
* And so on and so on
- culture
- books
- beauty
- picnic

Music, Movies, and Books
* Movies: all time favourite is The Shawshank Redemption. A movie I still don't know where to place is Hard Candy. Also love House of Flying Daggers, The Crying game, The Good Shepperd, V for Vendetta... Favourite directors Quinten Tarantino and Tim Burton
* Books: The Clan of the Cave Bear by JM Auel, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by Tolkin, Harry Potter, The Joke and The Unbearable Light of Being by Milan Kundera, One hunderd years of soltitute by Gabriel Garcia Marques, Henning Mankell, Anna Holt, Lisa Marklund, Elisabeth George, Michael Goddard...
Music: Neil Young, U2, Jeff Buckley, Placebo, White Stripes, Tom Robinson, Muse,....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's hard to describe the beauty of Petra (Jordan) as the colours changes depending on the light. So something in the morning looks different in the evening
Taj Mahal, I've seen it so many times on a postcard but in real it's even more impressive
Spend one night in an Indian overcrowded woman only train waggon
Countries I’ve Visited
India, Indonesia, Jordan, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Spain, Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
Belgium
