ABOUT ME

I have lived in many cities, the most interesting and perhaps the most formative place was Belfast Ireland. Now I live in Oakland California with my girlfriend. I love learning interesting and applicable things and talking with people who know these things. I study history because it think that reveals why things are the way the are and this understanding enables us to create change. Im interested in things that transform our present perception and challenge our cultural paradigms. Im into art, music, reading, learning, teaching. I especially love hip-hop and street art (only as a spectator at this point) they have defiantly influenced how I see the world. Lastly, my preferred way to transport myself and see the world is by bike!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to gain much experience through couchsurfing.org, but I have been couch surfed many times. When I travel I prefer to stay with locals rather than other travelers. Sometimes I stay with friends or friends of friends. I have used Air BNB a few times which is great but I am excited to experience hosting and being hosted without the transactional feeling that arise when money is involved.

Music
I am a huge hip hop fan, I mostly like conscious hip hop but I can appreciate good lyricism no matter what the yard rhyming about. I also listen to all kinds of other music, everything from Nina Simone to Manu Chao and everything in between.
Books
All About Love by Bell Hooks, Hillbilly Nationals, Urban Race Rebels and Black Power by James Tracy and Low Life are some that stick out. I mostly into non fiction.
I don't watch to many movies but I enjoy indie films and documentaries.

Lettering-I have been into lettering graffiti, script and calligraphy for many years. So if you need a card I can draw something for you.

History-Im kind of a history nerd and I want to teach history so I appreciate sharing what I have learned and hearing what you know)

Bicycle-I have some mechanical skills and can make basic repairs on bikes.

Learn

Spanish-I am in the process of learning spanish and if anyone is into helping me with that it would be greatly appreciated.

Dancing-It is a work in progress. So any pointers would be great.
