About Me

CURRENT MISSION

No mission really. Try to live life to its fullest each day because this is the only one we are ever gonna get.

ABOUT ME

Done with working in a corporate legal job for five years of my life. Am onto farming now. So my life and activities are centred around it.

PHILOSOPHY

To live and let live is a credo by which I try to live life.

Philosophically speaking I'm still in the process of discovering myself. I believe one can never really describe oneself. For contradictions are the only order and change the only constant. I usually do anything that interests me. And as one would have it things that interest me keep changing with the seasons. That should explain the paradigm shift in my career i'm guessing.

However, some concepts that interest me and one may find traces of these in my personality are- world-citizenry, open mindedness, green initiatives, end of the human farce on the beautiful blue planet...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the last two odd years I had practically stopped hosting unless old CS friends popped by. However, I have moved cities and shifted careers and am presently living on a farm in Mysore. I am in a position to host again and meet some new peeps.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

AWESOME!! To put it in one word. Have met and hosted a lot of wonderful people. Truly looking forward to meeting, hosting and couching with many more..

Interests

I love watching movies and plays. When I was in Bangalore a decent amount of theatre used to happen but I'm yet to find that pulse to go with here in Mysore. I really love going on long walks and sit by the lake doing nothing in particular..just live..

Used to be an avid philatelist but the zest has kind of fizzled. But I still treasure my stock very dearly. Tried my hand at photography after buying a really good rig but it didn't work for me as I found the act of photographing an intrusion into time and life of those moments. I mean if I'm travelling to a new place I could be exploring that place and taking all of it with all the sensory receptions maximised instead of just clicking away and preserving the pictures for posterity. I of course do take pictures but as a complement to my experiences and not as a replacement for it.

One casualty of my corporate work culture (of the past) was losing my reading habit. I used to be an avid reader earlier but have been unable to finish a book in one sitting the way it used to happen earlier in the last six years! Now that the corporate life is behind me I look forward to getting restarted with losing myself in them.

Oh, and I love sleeping. Anytime is a good time to sleep. I do not consider it a waste of time at all. It is as much living as any other activity!

Music, Movies, and Books

Way too many movies to recall here. I like watching all kind of movies with no genre limitation as such. I even like movies that are known to be (conventionally) disturbing.

As for music I again like listening to anything that I find that sounds good. From death metal to Indian classical music. Bollywood to other regional music. EDM to what else have we. Though I must confess that I do have an affinity for classic rock.

I like reading fiction, pulp fiction, history, non-fiction, short stories, classical works though I have maximum affinity for Science Fiction. An SF title and a mug of beer while on a hammock is the most ideal way to spend a Sunday IMHO

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

LIFE! EXISTENCE! NATURE! BEAUTY! SENSES! FEELINGS! LOVE!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can impart elementary legal concepts should anybody find that interesting. I can most definitely share green thumb initiatives and efficient and organic farming ideas including designs for constructing farm structures, tools and implements.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Life cannot be a boilerplate template to specify before hand what one intends to share with hosts or surfers alike. It could be a material thing or it could be experience or a thought or any other thing that would be opportune at that point of time, then and there.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
