Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted just one time since joining. Now, I am traveling for a year, so would like to stay with people, especially in other countries, learn about their cultures. I've been fairly independent and done everything on my own; now learning how to accept, receive help and CS is a part of that. I like to help and enjoy stories when I stay places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first heard of couchsurfing.org from a friend of mine when i was planning my studies in South Shields, United Kingdom. He was very up about this website and told me that its a must to join website if u r travelling other countries. Now the term made sense in my head but I had never heard of this community so I asked "How do you meet someone everywhere you go? How can you plan that into your budget that you're just going to meet someone cool enough to let you stay with them?" "No, no, there's a website for it." and he described couchsurfing to me. I can say that if anyone else had told me about couch surfing I would have thought "Gee, I dunno. Sounds a little sketchy." but instead I thought "Wow, its awesome, I have nothing to worry about." I created a profile, and months later when I quit my job to pursue my further studies in U.K. , I began meeting all the coolest people in the world. That's what couchsurfing is to me. It's like a not-so-secret club for all the most generous, most interesting people in the world, and I consider myself privileged to have met as many CSers as I have.

Interests

Traveling, as i worked in Merchant Navy, i got to visit many places around the world. And because of that i have friends all around the world. I love meeting new people n exploring their cultures.
