ABOUT ME

I am a very artistic female who is very focused on projects, and building community! I have worked with various theatre companies, and have instructed many adults and students in the areas of arts, theatre, and culture, on both a professional and volunteer basis. I love to travel, write, and develop community through communication and art! I love theatre, because I love sharing stories, which is why I think couchsurfing is a fantastic idea!!! However, this love of theatre means I move a lot, (often one to two times a year) and live abroad, so my hosting location and situation seems to change an awful lot.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I currently rent for short periods, or have lived on ships, or am booked to work on the road, my housing is often quite up for grabs. Most frequently, the places I find a room to rent in don't allow me to have house guests. However, I always like to meet new people, and act as a tour guide to show them around the areas. And I cannot wait to be able to have a place where I can host year round!

At this time, there is a place for people to stay at my place, but because I am SOOO far up north, many travellers sadly do not venture this way. But I'm keen to coordinate if they do! I've hosted a number of performers through other sights, so it would be nice to get some travellers through Couchsurfing too if people make the treck.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had the most brilliant couch surfing experience when my friend and I went to Paris. We met some amazing hosts and Parisians who we remain in contact with (and hopefully one day get to host!) I have promoted to others as the best way to travel because the most exciting part of any trip is the people you meet, rather than the places you see. Things are just earth and stone - stories and friends (like art and theatre) offers limitless possibilities to discover over time! On my last return to France, I met up with those fine friends and took them exploring. I'd like to make more great friends through couchsurfing , whether as a host or a traveller.

I'll read, watch, and listen to anything and everything... because everything deserves at least one try!
Books: Any theatre book... I love Beckett, Shakespeare, J.K. ROwling, The Last Unicorn.
Films: La VIta et Bella, Bicenteneial Man, La Grand Seduction, Shakespeare in Love.
Music: Folk, Rock, Jazz, and Swing are my favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Published research regarding colonialist theatre practices in Botswana, acted and participated in over 50 theatre productions, created various art installations, and travelled to every province in Canada!
