About Me

I love going on adventures and meeting, talking to and helping people. I love Jesus Christ, which is a huge influence on how I live my life. I am looking to get a Master's degree in Agroforestry after I graduate from Berry College through the Master's International program with Peace Corps. I work for Berry College as a research assistant to reestablish Longleaf Pine and the American Chestnut to the southeast of the U.S.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am studying abroad in NZ this summer and I am interested in meeting locals at a more intimate level! One day I would love to host, but that is tricky now as I am a college student with no permanent address.

Interests

I love adventures, especially when they involve the outdoors! Caving has been a grand passion; I am hoping to visit some caves in Hawaii soon (carved by lava instead of the usual water, wow!). I am a big fan of the water, so I like skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, swimming, etc. you name it. Hiking and mountain biking are also super awesome. Also, I would really love to canyoneer one day. Reading and baking sweets are fun. I also love animals, especially dogs!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like old classic rock best, but I do enjoy most music. I am looking to broaden my music tastes, but my favorite band is Fleetwood Mac.
Movies: Action movies and comedies are the best! My favorite movie is the Book of Eli!
Books: Books that make you think are the greatest. I usually prefer fiction, but I am pretty open minded when it comes to literature. My favorite is Redeeming Love; I suggest it to everyone!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing moment of my life was accepting Jesus as my savior because it gave so much joy to my life! I am so much happier now that I have an unchanging rock in my life. However, I think life in general is amazing. Everyday is a new adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm, teaching-I might be able to teach how to make sweets or how to juggle. If someone is interested in the Bible, I can help there too but I will certainly not force that on anyone! I could help someone practice speaking Spanish. I wish that I could help teach more! I am not musically inclined so I would love to learn about new music and maybe even how to play! I would also love to learn any outdoor activity-anything adventurous. Cooking would be fun to learn too! Sharing stories, conversation and laughter is a must. Additionally, I am willing to share whatever I have physically if someone needs anything-I love to share with people! The best thing to share though is a good adventure.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to say that I could cook dinner, but I am not really that great of a cook. I would love to help though and I can definitely clean up after myself. However, I can bake sweets pretty well and I would love to make desserts for my hosts! I will give whatever the host needs. It would make me happy to be generous in return to the generosity shown by housing a guest.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Mexico
