About Me
Hi!
I'm a 24 year old femme who listens to her heart (whenever my gut isn't calling) when it tells her to travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
this is my first experience in reaching out in the couch surfing world.
I feel as though it's a great way to have a local's perspective - get the in's and out's -and hopefully build community in a new friend (future pen pals).
also HAVE YOU SEEN THE CANADIAN DOLLAR? (me neither, it's disappearing)
Interests
My interests range from studying - whether it be sociology, psychology, culture, gender and world religions.
I'm heavily into practicing a mindfulness lifestyle -asana, meditation and mindfulness in every day actions- but can still drink (and brew) wine and beer on a rooftop or beach after a long cycle.
I believe heavily in DIY and constantly find myself saying "oh, I could make that" which has left me with the dream to build my very own tiny home (trendy, I know) out of reclaimed and repurposed materials, along with the goods found inside of it - the soap, the ceramic bowl it sits in, the pillows, blankets, curtains, , beer, vegetables from the garden next to the canoe...
I am an art hopper, therefore always have my hands in something (usually ink). I've studied photography at Winnipeg's Prairieview School of Photography, which encouraged me to host my first show during Flash Fest in October of 2015.
I also study printmaking at an independent studio called Martha Street Studio. There I've taken many courses such as book binding, letterpress and silk screening which allowed me to create my very first zine!!!
When I'm not playing roller derby or bike polo with friends I like to dog sit and relax with a good movie and a slice of red velvet cake.
Hey, i'm human.

Music, Movies, and Books
A fab of female soloists or female lead groups. Otherwise, I need hose moody tunes.
You'll often catch me jamming and shaking by the tunes I sing to myself.
I've recently switched from fiction (Jodi Picoult is my favourite author - read Nineteen Minutes if you have the chance) over to university study books. Weird how that happens.
Between Picoult and academic texts, I enjoy gaining insight on feminist and queer theory, as well as indigenous experiences and history in Canada.
Call Me by Your Name has left me hallowed out and seeking closure. Still recovering.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If I can give myself any credit, it would have to be for regaining control over my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe through conversation, and the experience of sharing our space, we would have handfuls to learn from one another - and wine. wine too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share wine - and laughs. laughs too.
