About Me

I grew up in a central eastern city in China called Hefei. I studied sociology in college and I am now a Ph.D. student in Anthropology and Performance Studies in the United States. I love dancing/movement/arts in general. I particularly love street/party dance created by American Black dancers in the 1970s such as locking. I spent two gap years learning it full-time in Beijing and Shanghai. I want to be a professional dancer. I also recently got interested in theater.

I am eager to learn about others through conversations, books, films, art, etc. When traveling, I enjoy walking around streets, taking public transportation, and witnessing everything around me. I like trying out local food and activities. I am a big fan of exchanging stories and feelings. I consider myself an adventurer and I like exploring nature, including trying fun and creative ways to interact with it.

I am pretty low-maintenance when it comes to living conditions. I love being around people as well as spending time with myself. I also love playing with pets and children!
