Overview
About Me
"You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place" - Miriam Adeney
I am a university student researcher interested in public health and social justice in order to improve marginalized communities. I believe that every human is entitled to the right of life, health, and education. I love traveling and meeting new people, seeing new things, and most importantly learning from others. To me, the only way to truly travel is to be immerse in the culture and community of the land, which includes connecting and having dialogues with locals.
I am a very happy person who loves to laugh.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people and see the importance of learning about the culture, people, and community from those who live in these spaces. I also enjoy making connections and sharing my experiences with people from different walks of life .
Interests
Other than traveling and talking with people, I like being active (whether it's playing sports, biking, hiking, or swimming). I have a passion for cooking and love to learn about local foods and produce. I also love being in the great outdoors and examining nature. I can share with you fun fact about plants! I am an advocate for health, social, and environmental justice. Here are some of the projects that I have researched on:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling without spending a single penny:
- Dived with great white shark in Cape Town, South Africa
- Swam/snorkeled with dolphins, moray eels, black tip sharks, sting rays in Moorea, French Polynesia
- Taught monks about human biology and physiology & learned how to meditate from monks in Chiang Mai, Thailand
- Slept over at a famous pagoda (Wat Bo) in Siem Reap, Cambodia
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about Buddhism, meditation, biology, chemistry, American culture, and anything else I know, so don't be afraid to pick my brains:)! I love making things with my own hands, so I take interest in knitting, origami, and cooking new cuisines and adding in my new flavors into my recipes. I enjoy sharing my own stories/ travels. I also enjoy dancing or learning how to dance.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my experiences of making traveling a reality for me as a poor college student. I can also share the integrating of cooking techniques that I've learned in the different places I've traveled: Thailand, South Africa, French Polynesia, Vietnam, and America. Additionally, I can share my knowledge and opinions on any topic that you are interested in talking about. I can and have taught students (high school and university) about chemistry and biology. For those who want to practice English, we can chat about anything and everything.
*Lastly, and most importantly, I can share lots of happiness, laughter, and smiles. :)
