About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have fun, enjoy life and share it with others.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in New Zealand. Did a high school exchange in Germany for a year and a Uni exchange in Denmark for 6 months.

Have just quit my typing job and am about to move to the UK. Yay for my Irish passport! :P

I think way too much about life and why we're all here, but I'm determined to enjoy the process as much as possible and live my way into the answer with a smile on my face and chocolate and champagne in hand :-)

I consider myself as coming from Wellington and I love that place to bits - my soul home :-)

I am friendly, passionate, independant, an introspective extrovert (or am I an extroverted introvert... well, I'm a contradiction anyway :P). I love to have a quiet read with a cup of tea, I love to have a drink and a dance and met new and random people. I love tea - all kinds of fabulous tea. I am a vegetarian.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that life is short and you've got to totally live in every moment because in the end, all life really consists of is this moment.

I love to embrace all the nooks and crannies of life, and believe in not running from, but rather embracing and loving all the questions in your heart. I think you must seek to first know thyself, and then BE thyself, wholeheartedly and unashamedly. Find your difference in the world and then be and do it.

I also believe that life exists in the interaction between people and is about what we can give to and share with others.

An it harm none, do as ye will. I believe in following your heart always, and that the world is a beautiful place.

Seize the day! Live! Love! Laugh! :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed once in San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Also did a fabulous Auckland to Wellington road trip with a couple of cool couchsurfers and had a great time!

Interests

I love reading, writing, meeting new and interesting people, language, poetry, photography, baking, chocolate, wine and the almighty beverage tea.

I love learning about psychology, sociology, philosophy, science, metaphysics, spiriturality - basically I just want to learn about every inch of life, I am fascinated by it all and what the purpose of it all is.

I write poetry, I love books and I rant far too much on my blog (when I should be sleeping or doing other things) here:

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Love going to live gigs of anything funky, love rock and indie music and anything soulful or meaningful or just plain fun!
Movies: Memento, Run Lola Run, Anchorman, Monty Python, Once, Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Books: see above! Anything about life or the universe or the world or people and how they tick. I love anything Jane Austin or Paulo Coelho. I also have a secret penchant for fantasy fiction. Geek!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being in Paris for the first time had a profound effect on me. Here I was, 16 years old from a down-and-out tiny small town in New Zealand where acheivement to most people was picking up their dole cheque, and suddenly I was standing at the top of the Eiffel Tower! Me! On the Eiffel Tower! I can't even explain how that felt. It was as if it was the first time I realised that not only was there a big wide world out there but it was at my feet and I was capable of anything I set my mind to.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to help people practice English and I'd love to practice my German with anyone willing! I haven't spoken in ages so I'm a bit rusty. Also really want to improve my Spanish.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Costa Rica, France, United States
