About Me

Hi. I'm originally from Korea but I’ve been wandering around the past 8 years. I studied Economics and International Studies. I'm interested in international development.

***When you message me, please start your message with :) a smiley face. If I don't see a smiley face I won't reply back! I wanna make sure you have read my introduction.
***I won’t be hosting you if you don’t have any reference. Sorry and no offense! but I’m not a huge risk taker
***Couchsurfing is not a dating website. Again, couchsurfing is not a dating website.

Will read your profile and Will give you a reference (If I've met you in person)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Usually, I travel alone, so I'd like to meet new people and learn more about the place from the locals.
During college, I lived with 25+ other people in non-profit housing. I miss being surrounded by people, have a good conversation, and share meals together. I enjoyed being part of a caring community.
Since I don't live in one place too long to find and cultivate my own community, I wanted to find a community that I belong wherever I go. Couchsurfing sounded like a good idea.

Since I joined Couchsurfing, I've met wonderful people who I made a lasting relationship with. It is always fun to meet another person and learn that there are so many different ways of life. So far, I enjoy sharing my experience and gain some wisdom from CSers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Documentaries over Movies
Non Fictions over Fiction
Memoirs over Autobiography

Good books that I enjoyed and can think of at this moment are Wild Swans (Jung Chang) Evicted(by Matt Desmond), Banker to the Poor(by Prof. Yunus), Come As You Are(by Emily Nagoski), We All Should Be Feminists(by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie), The Razor's Edge (Somerset Maugham), etc etc

I tend to like female vocals and R&B. I may be a BlackPink fan in a closet :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have lived in 3 different countries since the pandemic started. South Africa will be the 4th one

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach the Korean language, probably up to high school level of Math and other basic subjects (My first job out of high school was to teach 7 kids), and maybe a little bit of yoga.
I want to learn the local culture and history of the places I'm visiting, how to drive (I still don't have a license), and how to do a headstand.
I would love to share my photography and travel stories.
*We can talk about intersectional feminism, reproductive rights, and how to crash patriarchy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've lived with a big crowd of people from all over the world. before, so I know how to cook for 30 servings, be respectful of other people's space, and be a responsible housemate. If hosts have any question about the places I've visited or places I've lived, I'd be happy to chat about it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bangladesh, Canada, Guam, Indonesia, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, United States
