We (my wife and I) received good education in China and Europe, hold positive life attitude, are easy-going, inter-cultural aware, friendly and earnest, enjoying sincere and relaxed communication with people with real sense. Love to travel to meet local people and experience everyday life in city, county, village.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We (my wife and I) hope we can meet some tens of interested and interesting hosts in Norway, Sweden and Finland. We also hope we can host some interesting and nice surfers in Beijing, China.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ever hosted some travellers and students (strangers or casual friends) in China and Finland in 1980s and 1990s. Experience with international organizations and international exchange students.

In early 1980's I and my wife had a honeymoon trip to a historical city, called Chengde. We met a young couple from Beijing about the same age on the train. We traveled together in Chengde. The couple loved travelling,showed their interest to visit our hometown Tianjin. We warmly invited them to come to Tianjin. Some months later the couple come to Tianjin, and we hosted them to stay in our new home! We lost contact with each other, but we still clearly remember their faces, smile, and unforgetable experience! We have a lot of such fun stories!

Interests

We enjoy swimming and walking very much in everday life.
We arrange international and China-domestic travelling a couple of times with several months each year. We together travelled more than 20 countries, Europe, Asia, North America,...
We also travelled more than 20 provinces in China.
In Beijing we visited most of parks, religious temples, museums, cultural attractions and natural scenaries.
We also like reading, movies, music,...
Sucessful communication with interesting people in any part of the world is also a great fun.
Cooking Chinese foods for international people is also a great fun!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We experienced many amazing stories... Here is one.
In early 1990's we lived in a university town, called Joensuu in Finland. Our student apartment building were temporarily used as a summer hotel. We moved to a neighbouring building. One day we dropped by the hotel and surprisingly saw a European guy was sitting at sofa holding a copy of Chinese newspaper and reading! We greeted him and knew he was a French guy. The French guy won a prize in a TV competition program and was spent his holiday in Finland. We warmly invited him to have a dinner next day at our home. He came next day at 12.00 noon, we had a nice dinner, and nice talk, until we offered him supper after 6.00 p.m. We cooked and he enjoyed the nice evening meal and we continued nice talk, until midnight. After 12.00 midnight we even offered him midnight meal! We lost his contact information and even his name, but we remember that lovely, lovely day!
