Born and bred in Seoul, South Korea. It was my desire to know the unknown that spurred me to study abroad in the U.S. at age 16, and choose my major as Western philosophy.

I'm currently studying Spanish in Guadalajara, Mexico, the glorious city that bred the mariachi and tequila!

I see so much to learn with and from others. Making friends with a stranger, coming to understand the person's inner-most thoughts and feelings, and sharing unique life stories truly inspires me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was on vacation in Hermosillo, Sonora, roaming around the plaza area home to the city's night life. In front of a night club that had kilometers of queue, however, I found myself mobbed by the local party-goers who were struck by my novelty of being an Asian person in the highly homogeneous city.

Everyone was overjoyed at the sight of an unlikely tourist and profusely cheering 'chino, chino,' as every Asian person would be addressed regardless of his nationality. But then was heard a voice of wisdom and distinction. "No,no, no, no, no, pero el es Coreano!" Can you imagine he impressed I was?

How he knew so well, that is still a mystery. He walked right into the sea of people and never emerged again.
