About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Surviving "wonderland"

ABOUT ME

~Who knows, maybe I'll end up working in Nigeria someday.~

I wrote that about two years ago. It's funny to read something from the past that's become reality.

Currently I am living in Jimeta, Nigeria, or "Idaho" as I like to call it, a very small and remote little twin-town that's quickly becoming a college town. Which brings me to the following - I work for American University of Nigeria based in Yola, about a mile and a half away from my house. I work in Human Resources while simultaneously trying to adapt to an expatriate life and overcome culture shock. I gave up high-speed internet, coffee shops on every block, and millions of things to see and do for constant power outages, farm animals, and a place where traffic laws are an afterthought. That either makes me ambitious or completely insane. I like to think it's a little bit of both.

Either way, it's an experience of a lifetime.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that life moves in cycles. For every high point there is a low point. For everything that goes out, something comes back around. For every flux in time, there is great change waiting to happen. The world tends to balance itself out. Just go with the flow, and everything will turn out right.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm offering my couch to anyone who is brave enough to pass by this hidden corner of the world. I am just starting to get back into being an active member after a long hiatus so I am excited to meet new travelers, make global friends, and have some surfing experience of my own. It's been too long.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in Iceland. Met some of the most amazing people and had the time of my life.

While in DC, my roommates and I hosted a good number of people who have become close and everlasting friends. It's truly a mind-opening experience for both hosts and surfers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Iceland is magnificent. If you get the chance to go in the winter, do it. You won't regret.

Teach, Learn, Share

The key to rock climbing is balance. Learn to climb with your feet, anchor with your hands, and always maintain your center of gravity.
