ABOUT ME

I am a junior at NYU, where I study cinema. Film is my academic passion, but I also enjoy all modes of creative expression. I think of myself primarily as a writer, for example, but I also enjoy drawing, photography, and playing music.

I am staying in Paris until mid-December and plan to make the most of my time here. I'm here first and foremost for experience, so I'm up for pretty much anything, even something low-key.

PHILOSOPHY

I prefer to live in constant acknowledgment of my own mortality, and never in fear of it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm here to meet people and make friends while I'm in France. I would love to meet and chat with anyone, though preferably in English with some French thrown in. You will find that I sometimes struggle to speak eloquently in French, but also that I can understand it fairly well, so films are never out of the question.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Werner Herzog films, documentaries, film noir. Digging Jean-Pierre Melville and Louis Malle at the moment.

Bob Dylan, Sufjan Stevens, and LCD Soundsystem are a few of my favorite musicians. I really love folk, dance, and alternative rock in general.

My favorite authors are generally modernists, like Proust, Faulkner, and Joyce, but I am very open-minded and like to read literature from any given country or time period.
