Hi there :)

I'm a 26 year old kiwi who has just finished up my masters in environment studies ( finally!). I'm currently travelling for 6 months- mainly around the Balkans for an adventure and break before real life ( aka jobs) begins. I am interested in lots of different things - from social justice to urban planning to food- aka growing it, it's politics, foraging, cooking preserving etc. I love travelling and meeting new people and trying new things. I really enjoy getting outside and hiking or any water based activities and love adventures, both small and large.

I like to think i'm pretty open minded and sociable, and I really love meeting new people. I have couch surfed in a few different spots and it's always been such a awesome way to connect with people but also gain a way better perspective of the country you are visiting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love the ability to connect with people from all over the world and get a true insight into the country your visiting, away from the confines of the hostel walls.

I have mainly surfed and been really lucky to have had the most amazing experiences will all my hosts. I have hosted a few times in New Zealand when my living situation has allowed, Couch surfing is really one of the best communities.

Interests

languages and new cultures/ trying different foods and spending time with friends/family. I love a good hike, snowboarding want to learn to surf... and a good adventure no matter where it leads- I really will give anything ago!.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies- a range of things really- I like movies that stick with you for a while- ones that you think of now and then for weeks/ months after. Also am a romantic at heart so sometimes can fall into the rom com
watching trap. Some general favourites would be - the motorcycle diaries, Samsara, The Intouchables and Dead Poet Society,

Books: love reading non-fiction- though my stack
of these is huge! Hoping to read more while travelling, but generally enjoy reading most things and love the way that novels suck you in and you can forget about anything else! Like reading anything my Michael Pollan, Charles Eisenstein, Maya Angelou, Isabelle Allende, Wade Davis.

Music-very lazy with my music but like most things, into Khalid at the moment, but tend to enjoy folky/ alternative music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably one of the most amazing things I have done so far was star gazing in the Sahara, have never ever seen a night sky like that!

I speak intermediate spanish and am fluent in english- so i can help you here if you want.
Also reasonable cook- into food prep for the freezer if you need any recipes haha
