About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm a student living abroad!

ABOUT ME

I'm a student from the USA, I was born in Albuquerque (yes, the city from Breaking Bad) but I grew up closer to Philadelphia, on the East Coast. I arrived in France in 2013, and the first city I lived alone in was Lyon! It was such a beautiful city. The year after that I was in Lille, where I did one year of university in philosophy and religious sciences, and right now I'm finishing up a year of une prépa de beaux arts. :)

I love nature and the outdoors. The thing I miss most about the US is my dog. Food is a very important part of my life, as are soft sweaters, large piles of pillows, and bees. I love writing, drawing, painting, and basically anything that stimulates creativity.

I have many friends, and most of them are plants.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and expand my horizons! I've met a couple really interesting and lovely people on here, and it seems like a great way to explore different viewpoints and unusual perspectives, as well as meeting people who you vibe really well with. I'd love to participate in it more.

Interests

I really enjoy the arts. I've discovered so much more interesting and amazing things about being an artist this year, much more than I'd ever have imagined. Performance art, drawing, painting, and poetry being my favorite things, I also really enjoy philosophy, anthropology, and weird obscure conspiracy theories that probably are not true, but involve thrilling tails of giants and covered-up archaeological evidence. Just because they aren't true doesn't mean it wouldn't be awesome if they were ;)

But don't worry, I'm not some crazed conspiracy-ridden art student either. I'm very bright and I smile too much, but I love laughing and trying to enjoy every moment life offers. Sitting in the sun, having a beer with dear friends, and sharing these kinds of experiences is something I've always loved.

I also really enjoy eating.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all types of music. My favorite band is Sigur Ros (an awesome group from Iceland), but otherwise my interests are pretty diverse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved across the world when I was 18, which people say is crazy and amazing, but all I can think about is how much better the bread is here than in the States.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English! I also make an awesome macaroni and cheese, or grilled cheese, or enchiladas.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Italy, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, United States
