ABOUT US

Chantelle:
Born in England but grew up in Auckland, NZ. Started my travels in 2013, I spent 4 months backpacking South East Asia before moving to London for 2 years. I travelled a bit of Europe while I was there. Now I am back in New Zealand and keen to explore this beautiful country I have always called home.

David:
26 Years, from London, England. Has been within the IT profession for 5 years. Very friendly and talkative character.

Us:
We met at work in London and have been a couple for over a year. Love exploring new places, meeting new people and enjoying new experiences together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why We're* Couchsurfing

We are hoping to experience each place from more of a locals point of view. We want to learn about each city/town from someone who lives there and is passionate about their home. We would love to learn about the less touristy hidden gems of this country and believe the locals will know best. David is also contemplating moving to NZ in the future, which is even more of a reason to see/speak/share with local people.

We're on a road trip around NZ for the next 2 months (until mid April). We have a car and a tent. A bed/couch would be good but we have a double air bed/tent to use if necessary.

Interests

Chantelle:
Travelling! I like meeting new people. I love a good challenge. I play netball and run. I love being outdoors and keeping active. I love watching rugby. I like going out for coffee for a good catch up with friends.

David:
Travelling, Good food, meeting new people, Digital Photography, Music - All Genres, Festivals, Fashion, Football (Soccer (Chelsea FC), Rugby)

Music, Movies, and Books

Chantelle:
I have a love for movies so there are too many to list as favourites.
I like music in general, enjoy hearing a new sound and I love it when music makes you feel something.

TV Shows: Game Of Thrones, Arrow, Family Guy, Stargate, The Cleveland Show, Archer, Sons Of Anarchy, Workaholics.

I enjoy reading in my down time, still havent found a favourite genre or book so am always looking for suggestions from people for what to read next. Have read the Game of Thrones books, The Book Thief, some of the Jack Reacher series, Hunger Games among many others... so a bit all over the place.

David:
Dance Music - I can DJ so I have a keen interest in Deep House, House, UK Garage, Drum & Bass. But i also have a love for all music, across the spectrum.

Favourite movie would have to anything from the Tarantino collection. Again i do have very, very varied taste in movies.

Books: Russell Brand, The Diceman

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Chantelle:
Sky Diving in Auckland. Partying in Thailand. St Paddys in Dublin. Disneyland in Tokyo over Christmas! Running with the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Kings Day in Amsterdam and hopefully many many more experiences to come!

David:
This is the start of the most amazing journey of my life. I'll be bungee jumping, Skydiving, White Water Rafting etc

I suppose you could count working for a few great organisations back in London.

I also saved my friends life once.

Chantelle:
I always love learning about other countries and cultures and experiencing local life. Always happy to share my experiences and travel stories :)

David:
Anything IT/Technology related, plenty of stories growing up in London and places i've been to in Europe. Good tips on how to use your DSLR camera.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything above, plus we have brought our hard-drive with us (which contains my movie, music and tv show collection). David is pretty good cook too :)
