About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Always looking for a way to travel and take the most of it!!
ABOUT ME
I am a french girl that came as an exchange student for 6 months in Stockholm and actually stayed 3 years... Yes, Sweden was great!! :)
In 2012, I moved to Sao Paulo and I lived there for 10 years. Don't get me started on how amazing Brazil is!
I went back to France for a year in Paris, and I have now relocated...again... to Toronto, Canada, since the start of 2023.
I like to know the people that want to surf my couch a bit better so I'm asking for a quite personal presentation of yourselves in your request and why do u think we could get along.
I'm open to discussion on different topics and I'm willing to show u the city when I can so I hope you'll have a nice time in São Paulo, surfing my couch! :)
If I can't host you, I would be in for a cup of coffee or a little visit/walk in the city!
I've been traveling a lot in Brazil and more generally in South America since i moved here and i'm enjoying every place and every person I meet! I just want this to keep on going...
PHILOSOPHY
Let's travel :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was living in a student accommodation at the beginning of my Erasmus year in Stockholm and we all started to host surfers, it was fun to have dinners from different parts of the world from time to time!
So be prepare to cook, either swedish meals or from your own country.. Then you might taste a french dish as an exchange :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted regularly in Stockholm and had my first experience as a surfer with some friends of mine during a road trip in US and Canada in the summer 2011 where we stayed at 3 differents places and had a unique time.
In São Paulo i took a break but i usually went to the weekly meetings and participated to as many events as I could!
People I hosted in Sweden were from Canada, the US, Trinidad and Tobago, Austria, Hungary, Germany, China...
When in Brazil, crashes called "invasões" were also very popular, I got to visit many places through those:
- Acampamento Farupilha in Porto Alegre: it's a BBQ contest where CS managed to get us a small house with our own rib guy who was just grilling for our group
- Crash in Sao Paulo: we were having "samba & feijoada" in a bar in Vila Madalena when the shop accross the street was making his 'grand opening' so we all 40 of us just went in the store and had an impromptue party
- Crash in Rio de Janeiro: my first CS crash, got to meet incredible folks and visit the city in a totally different way
- Crash in Brasilia, to check out how Oscar Niemeyer built the city from scratch
- Crash in Belem, where CS chartered a boat to have a great party and see the meeting of the 2 rivers, Amazonas and Rio Negro
- Crash in Manaus where we went to a danse rehearsal for the famous "Bumba Meu Boi" in Parintins, one of the biggest folkloric festivals
Now that I relocated to North America, I've attended:
- NOLA Crash, one week after the Mardi Gras, which was still very lively
- SEA Crash, got to see some amazing sunsets over the mountains and an epic drone show during MLB All Stars Game
- VanCrash, to explore a new canadian province and got to check some cool nature and hiking spots
Interests
Traveling and constantly meeting different people, getting more aware of what is out there and open to a lot of possibilities for the future; it is mostly the reason why I join CS in the first place!
I really like going to the cinema and watch A LOT of TV shows ahah
- culture
- cooking
- coffee
- movies
- tv
- traveling
- surfing
- emergency services
- study abroad
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have traveled mostly in Europe so far, so I would say that going to Lappland in the north of Sweden was an awesome thing to do!
An amazing 3 weeks road trip around North East of US and in Canada in the summer 2011: NYC, Atlantic City, Annapolis, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Montreal and Boston!
Also the 4th day I was in São Paulo, I asked my way to a CS event to some police men, they just call some colleagues and a police car comes and brings me directly to the CS meeting; isn't that priceless!?
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm so grateful to be able to live in so many countries and not just pass by as a turist; one understands the culture and the people so much more, this is priceless!
