Overview
About Me
I'm working on a PhD studying the effects of climate change on ecosystem processes. I made the leap from the USA to Tasmania for studies and (secretly) to adventure in an incredible land. Science is just one side of my personality, as I'm generally shaking the leaves and dirt out of my hair from the latest adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here for the same reasons most people are here (friends, travelling, hosting, etc.). When I think about some of my favorite moments, it almost always involved the kindness of strangers. I hope to help out wayfaring strangers and make the world feel a little more cozy for everyone.
Interests
I try to be as busy as possible, never liking to be stationary for very long. Nights out on the town are fun, but I'd rather be in a tent. Or better yet, right under the stars.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Tolkien, The Name of the Wind, Dune, His Dark Materials
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived on a gypsy sailboat for half a year. It was one of the hardest and most wonderful experiences of my life. I learned so much about communication, miscommunication and how to make dinner for 30 people using the barest of pantry items.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have stories to tell about adventures I've had.
I am a good listener.
I would be happy to do some chores around the house, walk the dogs or whatever you need.
