ABOUT ME
Open minded, curious, with an Asia fixation
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. Explore, appreciate, and learn from the diversity of people and cultures on our planet.
Everything is interdependent, everything is in a flux, nothing is fixed. It is us who, in our struggle to understand and make sense of the surrounding world, categorize and divide it into ostensibly independent phenomena. That those categories and divisions vary between different cultures and languages, only goes on to show how artificial they are - and yet how necessary and interesting to explore.
We are naught but temporary knots of various strings and fibers, out of which we struggle to build identity, and construct meaning. Inasmuch as human experience can be daunting, it is beautiful and fascinating in all its shades.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CS has been amazing. I hosted many great people, and myself stayed in various places, from a posh house filled with Chinese antiques, to a flower farm, to a room at the back of a massage parlour, to a village boarding school. And made a few good friends on the way :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Conducted research on transgender people in India. Participated in a religious festival celebrated by thousands of transgenders from all over India. Also saw the Jagannath chariot festival (ratha yatra) in Puri, Orissa. Climbed the Tirumala hill to the temple of Sri Balaji-Venkateshvara - the richest and busiest temple in the world.
