Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To enjoy life and pursue my academic and culinary interests
ABOUT ME
I'm outgoing and love cooking and hanging out
PHILOSOPHY
I don't like to plan ahead, and I like to go and do whatever is impulsively exciting. In theory. Oh, and always, always be honest. No matter the short term cost.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by doing what everyone does- host and travel!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted numerous people and always had a great time eating and cooking together. I surfed a while in Hyderabad (India) which was tons of fun!! And a brief stay in new orleans too, which was very nice. A few summers ago I had tons of fun surfing in Stockholm and then Mumbai. So far so good :) Cities I dont know at all open up and become familiar to me in amazing ways when couchsurfing—lonely planet is pathetic compared to real people who want nothing more than to get to know you and show you around a city :)
When hosting I try to keep that in mind and be better than any travel guide could ever be.
Interests
Philosophical discussion, cooking, eating, cocktails, learning languages, brewing, photography, food anthropology, abstract mathematics (although my knowledge is unfortunately limited), curing meats and eating them, taking/riding modes of transport I'm unfamiliar with which remind me of the extreme ephemerality of life! And of course anything else thats enjoyable- most good things I dont even know about yet.

Music, Movies, and Books
A random smattering of my favorites: Dostoevsky, Curb your Enthusiasm, Kafka, Sopranos, anything by Philip Roth, Sein und Zeit, Talib Kweli, The Mezzanine, Short Stories by Flannery O'Connor, movies by the Coen Brothers, Infinite Jest, Hun Huur Tu, Nietzsche, and on and on and on...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Driving a rickshaw on MG Rd. in Bangalore was most likely one of the most thrilling and terrifying things I've ever done.
Teach, Learn, Share
