Hi. I´m Giles, from the hills east of the city of Adelaide in South Australia.

Over the last years I´ve been teaching English in Europe. Currently I have finished teaching English with Nordic School in Ruokolahti, east Finland. I enjoy meeting locals and value the time that I was able to spend with a local Finnish family last year.

In the longer term I plan to journey back to Australia with fewer emissions than usual, so I plan to stay close to the earth´s surface.

I am considering a surface journey taking me back to Australia this year. Good company would be welcome.

Many of my most memorable travel experiences are from the company of people who I have met.

Some of the friendliest people I have met have been couch surfers or hosts.

I enjoy seeing the sunrise and set.

My interest in ecology involves eating local, ethical food produced with minimal disturbance to other beings.

Travelled by surface from Hungary to Akuryi in Iceland which involved trains, ferries, buses and a lift from friendly locals who invited me to lunch.

More recently I have traveled from Australia to Helsinki on the earth's surface.
