Spent 3 solid months couchsurfing in Eastern Europe and the Balkans in the late 2000s. I'm much more used to the old CS system and I kinda miss it. Regardless, every CS experience has been an adventure. As a single female traveler, some of my couchsurfing experiences have been utterly amazing and some have downright sucked. However, I've probably only had two or three bad experiences out of close to thirty couchsurfing stints which I feel are pretty good odds.
