ABOUT ME

When I travel, I like to pick a direction and explore the new place on foot, soaking up the 'normal' things (what the grocery stores carry, games kids are playing, posters for local events, the smells etc). Museums are great too!

At home, I work as a substitute teacher in the public school district and at our local montessori schools, and I'm training to become a certified forest school teacher.

PHILOSOPHY

Compassion and wonder are my two guiding principles, and I share N. Scott Momaday's belief that we are what we imagine ourselves to be.

I host and I surf whenever I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed across Sweden and Canada. I've also hosted surfers in Sackville (via my roommate Naomi Martz's CS profile), had dinner with others, and have met wonderful folks through the Victoria CS group.

Interests

Bringing different generations together, spending time outside (hiking and cycling especially), local food, Forest schools, radio documentaries, making unusual connections, playing mandolin, hearing people's stories, reading, board games, sewing, discussing policy and politics, going dancing (swing, blues, or contra).
