Hi! My name is Charlaine but you can just call me Charlie!

I'm 23 years old and I live in Vianen. This is a small village in the center of the Netherlands, near Utrecht which you might have heard of.

After I finished High School in 2014 I took a year off. I knew for a long time that I wanted to go traveling. After a lot of research I decided to go to Asia. I worked the first part of the year and traveled the second half of the year. This trip was the first big trip in my life and i totally loved it. Currently I'm studying tourism management at the NHTV in the Netherlands. Unfortunately I have less time to travel now. I will still grab every opportunity though to see a new part of the world.

I'm an open-minded, friendly person. I would like to meet people from all over the world to learn about other cultures and to share travel experiences with.

I'm on Couchsurfing because I would like to meet people from all over the world and learn more about their lives and culture. I also believe that when a local shows you a city you'll get a total different experience than when you go into the city by yourself. I would love to experience city's in a different way and indulge myself in the culture. I'm always looking for unique experiences when I travel and I believe I can find these through Couchsurfing.

兴趣

I love to travel. I think after my first trip to Asia i became addicted to it. Most of my free time is dedicated to traveling. I love exploring new places, especially the ones lesser known by most people.

Another one of my passions is food. I love eating but also preparing food. I'm always interested in trying new foods from different countries. I believe that trying foods and sharing meals with people are good ways to experience a culture.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

During my first big trip to Asia, I went diving for the first time and I totally loved it.
The under water world is a whole different world and it's amazing to be part of it for a little while. It's so peaceful under water and so beautiful! The coolest thing I have seen under water was a sea turtle!
