Overview
About Me
I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in history, but found that academia was not quite the life for me. I've switched to journalism and love going out and reporting, meeting people, and picking up as many skills in news production as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been on couch surfing before, and did some when I was abroad a few years ago. I had a really nice time then, and right now I am going to drive across the US and am looking for things to do, people to meet and possibly places to stay, or even places to park my car and sleep in it.
Interests
I used to be a runner, but I'm in pretty bad shape right now. I hurt my back during undergrad, but still enjoy hiking and swimming. Recently I found a road bike in the basement which I repaired and started riding. I like to work with my hands, tinkering with technology and fixing things with tools. I really enjoy what I am doing now in journalism. I do a lot of broadcast, TV and Radio, and right now have been doing a radio show for the student radio where I have been playing a lot of old punk and rock.
I really enjoy reading nonfiction, not much for novels, and always had an interest in 1930s and 40s aviation. I am a big movie fan. There is a old theater by my house in Boston which I recently have been going to and seeing some classic movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went cross country skiing in Norway on the Olympic course from when it was in Lillihammer. But there they have specially bred dogs called Lillihammer Huskies, which have been trained to pull a cross county skier with them! So I was skiing with a belt, a line, and then a dog pulling me as fast as it could.
Dog only spoke Norwegian, so I didn't have a way to stop it except for falling and the dog eventually noticing it wasn't as easy anymore.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a little bit about a lot of things. In my studies, I learned a lot about US and Western history. Some Asian history. I love to talk about the world and how the past influences today.
I am pretty good at editing and recording audio. If anyone is interested in starting a podcast or something, I could give some pretty good advice on getting things to sound a lot better.
I know basic repairs and some electronics, mostly audio stuff, repairing stereos, which I do as a bit of a hobby.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'll have a car with me as well as some basic audio recording stuff. I have audio video and photo editing software on my computer if anyone needs help with that. I'm trying to think specifically what I will have. Some books, and always some food and potentially some beer.
Haven't finished packing up yet, so not so sure what I'll have but I would share anything I have!
