About Me

Hi there! I'm Charles Kambungo, a curious traveler and passionate about exploring the world one culture at a time. I'm someone who loves meeting new people, sharing stories, and learning from the diverse perspectives each person brings.

My journey has taken me to 8 states in the USA, some countries in South America, Asia and off course Africa my continent, and each trip has taught me something unique. I believe that the best way to truly understand a place is through the eyes of its locals, which is why I'm here on Couchsurfing. I’m not just looking for a place to stay, but for genuine connections and enriching experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To me, Couchsurfing is more than just a free place to stay—it's a community of like-minded individuals who value connection over convenience. I’m here to create memorable experiences, learn from others, and hopefully make some lifelong friends along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I’m a huge fan of reggae music and gospel. There’s something about the rhythm and messages in reggae that resonate deeply with me, and gospel music is a constant source of inspiration and peace in my life.

Movies:
One of my all-time favorite movies is Hotel Rwanda. It’s a powerful story that reminds me of the strength of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable adversity. I’m drawn to films that tell real, impactful stories and challenge me to think about the world in different ways.

Books:
I love reading books that inspire and challenge my thinking. One of my favorites is Nelson Mandela, I Am Prepared to Die. It’s a book that not only explores the art of communication but also delves into the wisdom and leadership of one of the greatest figures in history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most breathtaking experiences I’ve had was visiting the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Standing on the edge of that vast canyon, with its layers of red rock stretching as far as the eye could see, was absolutely awe-inspiring. The sheer size and beauty of the landscape made me feel both small and deeply connected to the natural world. Hiking along the rim and taking in the sunrise was a moment of pure peace and wonder that I’ll never forget. It was a reminder of the incredible beauty that exists in our world and the importance of taking the time to truly appreciate it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that every person has a unique story to tell, and I’m always eager to listen and learn. I’m driven by the idea of living life fully, loving others deeply, and making the most out of every experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m always excited to share a bit of my world with my hosts. Whether it's cooking up a dish from Angola, sharing travel stories, or just enjoying a good conversation about life, I’m up for it! I'm also happy to help out with any chores or tasks around the house.
