I grew up in St. Louis, went off to college in Indiana and ended up in Minneapolis for four years. I worked for the Target corporation in various roles in the Toys and Video Games industries. I am now pursing my MBA at the Kelley School of Business back at Indiana University (although I will never give up my allegiance to Notre Dame)!

I am a travel (obviously) enthusiast and have a keen interest in politics and sports. In my free time I coach and play Ultimate Frisbee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and hosting them when they are traveling through my own neighborhood! There is no more authentic form of generosity than opening your home to someone else, and I would like to pay it forward.

I am currently traveling up the West Coast in a final trip before I enter business school and would love and appreciate the hospitality as I experience new places I have never traveled.

I am new to this site, so I have no history or references yet, but please know that I will be very respectful to your place and open my own place up when I return.

I also brew my own beer on occasion and can make a mean Chicken Marsala.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Gomez, Barefoot Truth, Chiddy Bang, Dispatch, Dave Matthews Band. I consider myself hip and have a wide variety of interests, but this is usually what I revert to!

Movies: The Truman Show, Best in Show, Armageddon, The Emperor's New Groove, Contact. I have a soft spot for end of the word flicks :)

Books: Currently reading "Hooked: How to Build Habit Forming Products" by Nir Eyal. I am mostly into non-fiction currently, and probably will be until I finish business school.

Favorite books all time include: Bowling Alone, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Apex Hides the Hurt, and (like most everyone in my age cohort) the Harry Potter series

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Campaigned for a member of British Parliament in Cardiff, Wales while interning for him at Westminster in London. I canvassed door to door in downtown Cardiff during the 2010 Parliamentary Elections, asking for the support of the local Labour Party. Getting yelled at in Welsh is a bizarre experience. My MP won in a landslide :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you how to throw a frisbee forehand and the above head Hammer throw. I teach new high school players this on a regular basis! Can also tech and discuss more advanced Ultimate strategy if you are beyond beginner.

I can share stories and opinions of working in Merchandising for the nation's #2/3 retailer, especially if you are interested in Video Games or license Toys.
