I'm a graduate student currently living in Minneapolis, Minnesota (but from Philadelphia) and studying Mechanical Engineering. My biggest passion in life is Ultimate Frisbee and I've played for many great teams, including some semi-professional teams. I will likely always have a frisbee on me and always interested in having a toss. After Ultimate, I love nature and challenging myself to beautiful and difficult hikes - the kind of hikes that only locals always seem to know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't get to travel all that much (Oh, the life of the graduate student) but i'm very fortunate to have a job where I can get away once in awhile to present at conferences. I want to make the most of my travel opportunities by meeting people, seeing nature, eating food, etc..

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Classic Rock, Indie Rock, Hip Hop, Folk. I enjoy a lot of different types of music.

Movies: I love movies, mostly all of them (except horror). My current favorite movie might be Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Books: Ender's Game, Slaughterhouse Five, Everything is Illuminated. Currently trying to read through Vonnegut classics - I'm on Cat's Cradle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can say I've played a professional sport! Although my paycheck pretty much just covered dinner for that day...

I've hiked from the top to the bottom and back to the top of the Grand Canyon in about half a day. The rangers advise against this, and after doing it, so do I.
