Overview
About Me
I'm a medical student living in New Orleans but I have lived all over and love to travel. I was born and raised in the New York City suburbs of Connecticut, went to college at the University of North Carolina (where I majored in economics), and moved to New Orleans after graduating. While in college I was lucky enough to spend 1 semester studying in Barcelona and another as an exchange student at Mahidol University in Thailand. Through these experiences I luckily have been able to travel all over the world, but I still have SO much more travelling to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested in helping fellow travelers enjoy my current home of New Orleans, and I also enjoy being shown around by locals when visiting other places.
Interests
First I love to travel, as stated above. But I also love music (I play guitar, bass, piano, and I enjoy singing), reading as many novels and short stories as I can, snowboarding, playing basketball, and doing anything else that makes life more enjoyable.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music... My interests are incredibly varied so instead of listing artists I'll list some of my favorite albums: In Rainbows, Neon Bible, Live at Sin-e, Things Fall Apart, XO, Kind of Blue, Remain in Light, For Emma Forever Ago, Veckatimest, Feel Good Lost, Gorilla Manor, A Live One, Illmatic, Ready to Die, Wish you Were Here, Abbey Road, and many more!
Movies... the list is also long, but here are a few: There Will Be Blood, The Thin Red Line, Shawshank Redemption, Adaptation, Rushmore, Apocalypse Now, Superbad, This is Spinal Tap, the list goes on...
Books... another long list but some highlights include Infinite Jest, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Rabbit Run, Crime and Punishment, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Unbearable Lightness of Being, As I Lay Dying, Anna Karenina
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As part of a tropical ecology course offered during my semester in Thailand, I spent a weekend with the professor and classmates on a tiny island with no electricity in Andaman Sea. One night, when the lunar conditions were optimal, we were able to snorkel through a seemingly endless expanse of phosphorescent algae. It felt as if we were swimming in outer space, an experience I'll never forget.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always aiming to learn anything and everything. As far as what I can teach, I'm always willing to share my knowledge in the topics I've studied but you may rather learn some creative ways to open a beer bottle which I have mastered.
What I Can Share with Hosts
See above! In addition, I can offer minimal cooking skills but maximal effort in the kitchen. The same can be said for what I can provide in the handyman department. If nothing else though, I am happy to earn my keep wherever I stay in any possible way, even if that means just serving as good company.
