ABOUT ME

My name is Charles and I am from Québec City, Canada. I am currently doing a very big bicycle towards Europe for a year at least! From 2016 to 2023, I did back and forth from Québec to Tierra del fuego in three parts. In 2016-2018, I cycled two years from Quebec City to ushuaia, exactly 37 494 km lol! I followed the Andes all the way in South America, it was amazing! I flew from ushuaia to Quebec to work in the north for some time and after that I cycled on the Atlantic shore of South America for a year until COVID stopped me in the state of Maranhao in Brasil. Resuming my trip in 2022, i cycled through the Amazon and the Guianas all the way to Venezuela and then sailed and cycled the Carribean, before getting to Florida and riding home again! I like to share my travel stories with people a lot.

I graduated from Laval University in geology in 2013. Rocks are awesome. I registered to Couchsurfing in 2013 to help me around while I was doing a bike trip from Portugal to Uzbekistan!
I consider myself as a social, smooth and open person who likes to travel. My travels always turn out to some kinds of funny adventures and I like it that way! In a way, I am not a very good tourist since I don't like rushing to see all landmarks in a city for example. I think it's more about meeting people and do funny stuff!

Geography and travels greatly interest me! I studied in geology to be able to work directly in the field wherever it's necessary! I'm very curious in general, I like discovering different kinds of litterature and cinema!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I think the coolest thing I did was to cycle 11 000 km from Portugal to Turkmenistan in Central Asia to throw my engineering ring into the Gates of Hell, a big fire crater. Like in Lord of the Rings, me as Frodo and Turkmenistan as Mordor.

I really like to tell my travel stories. I try to make them funny. Having travelled to some exotic places (like azerbaijan and stuff) or worked in remote places (The taiga of the James Bay), I could share my experiences with you.

I am no great cook, but I like to do my best and cook for my hosts from time to time!
