Présentation
À propos de moi
Hi,
well, where to start. about 3 and a half years ago I left a job that i was in for nearly 10 years working for waitrose and became a music practitioner and then went on to broaden my horizons in leading and mentoring young people, a lot from difficult back grounds but with the common goal of empowering themselves so they can determine what they want out of their lives and learning/sharing the emotional, mental and sometimes physical skills of how to achieve this.
I like a laugh, the odd night of drinking, I'm very open minded, I've been a vegan for nearly a year and a half though have not got time to judge people on their diets, if you ask me about it then fine, to put it this way if i saw your sausage burning I'd turn it over for you.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I came out to Cambodia to volunteer in a placement, it did not work out the way I had hoped and now I'm living off my own back, so on a fairly limited budget whilst I look for work, I would like to work at a University or school as this if my forte working with young people and aspiring young adults, though I did not expect my volunteer placement demise to happen so this has mainly influenced my desire/need to couch surf and I've heard good things about it.
Obviously I would help around the house/apartment, and would be very respectable of everything.
Centres d'intérêt
I also like to volunteer a lot in various different ways, planting trees, willow weaving (I made 3 baskets for the latest Tazan movie.....random!! ) back in the city of Peterborough UK I was heaverly in a lot of different community aspects as my friends developed different organisations with the community spirit at heart, so it was a good time to spend time with them and meet more people!
I like films, books, playing cards and taking pictures of life, I'm no David Bailey but if i want to see a picture of the statue of liberty I'd google it, or stop by and look at if if i was passing, probably would take a picture then just for the sake of it.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
hmm well this is a tough one, books wise, 'Be the change' which is different peoples stories of how they have changed the world for the better, I also adored 'fear and loathing in LasVegas'.
Films, 'The Departed' 'forest gump' and 'whats eating gilbert grape'
Music lots of music but Joni Mitchell's 'blue' album is my absolute favourite!
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
well that depends on you perspective of amazing, honesty, that seems to be an amazing trait yet at times hard to find.
But most recently I saw a motto driver crash on the highway whilst I was in a tuk tuk going the opposite way the other day, no one was helping him as he lay unconscious, I convinced the tuk tuk driver to turn down the wrong way down the side we were on drive against the traffic (big ups for the tuk tuk driver ) by the time i got over there the motto driver had regained consciousness and was trying to get his bike back up as cars raced by dodging round us, people were just standing around, I got my first ids kit out and tried to get him to the side of the road and called to the other people stood at the side of the road but because of my limited Khmer they couldn't understand tht i was sying he is seriously hurt and the petrol tank was split as my feet were covered in petrol, unfortunately all the other five guys did was help the guy back on his bike and he drove off, they hen accused me of trying to steal his bag until one of them said 'meddi kit meddi kit' and they realised I'd got it out of my back pack, they gave it back, so I tried to do something 'amazing',
But I'd like to add doing something amazing doesn't have to be exciting or life threating situations, sometimes its just a commitment to better oneself and the world around you
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I've ran skill sharing work shops, music workshops, team building workshops, understanding humanity and emotional workshops, so I could transfer those skills in many ways,
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
as above, but also my opinions on the world and where I'm from, I can cook, I'm also pretty confident in difficult situations, so we could share stories with each other to find if we could make ourselves feel safer without making the world worse by reacting in an incorrect manner. Though this can be tough at times, taking the time to listen and enguage with people you can learn a lot.
but the main thing I would share is my commitment in trying to be happy, I'd play some songs aswell and show how easy it is to write your own and then tell them how hard it is being a song writer at times.
