ABOUT ME

22 year old male, 6"1,

Basically, I finished a politics degree in July and am currently working a bar to pay to travel (before joining the thrilling world of accountancy in the big smoke (London!). This is my first major expedition of this sort, my last chance before I begin 3 years of my qualification.

Music is important; I have a particular interest in techno and house, but an appreciation for anything from jazz to disco to funk to blues to rap and a history of punk pop. I want to see as much live music as I can during my trip.

I am not amazingly well read in literature but fighting to change that, have found my reading for my degree very interesting so am up for a discussion about that, particularly political philosophy- foucault, marx, locke, hayek, rothbard, henry george

I love to cook, am semi skilled at making cocktails and have a passion for good beer. One of the things I am most excited about is getting a chance to sample a wide array of craft beers in the states. Hope I can be of some use in some

Language skills wise I am pretty much monolingular but am trying my best to get to grips with spanish, I'm looking forward to meeting spanish speakers along my way to improve my language.

My hope for this trip is to meet some absolutely wicked people and get to really experience some cool places, try some new things, sample yaw'ls wares, cook some tasty food.

I want to learn anything I can, meet people with divergences in opinion, have a good discussion. I am particularly interested in getting a better understanding of the tech industry, improving my language skills and learning from other peoples experiences.

I feel I have a good understanding of politics- theory is very important to me and I feel this underlies everything else. I can also shut up about this if you like (I understand). If anyone cares about football I reckon I know about that a bit..
