About Me
ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm currently living in Bristol and have just finished my degree studying Philosophy. I spent 2012/13 studying in Maryland, USA and spent the summer couchsurfing around the country. I loved my experiences couchsurfing in the US (so much so that I went back and did the same thing again last year year) and am looking forward to continuing to be an active part of the couchsurfing community.
I work in a cool bar in Bristol, love playing, sharing and writing music and will be more than happy to show people around the city in my free time. I also love cooking so if you do end up crashing here I'll be sure to keep you well fed and maybe even make you some cocktails along the way!
In the meantime if anyone needs a host in Manchester my parents are hosting (https://www.couchsurfing.org/people/rebeccaevans/)
I'm very easygoing and (hopefully!) easy to get along with.
PHILOSOPHY
Just be nice to each other!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've just moved to a new place in Bristol and will hopefully be able to start hosting soon!
Anyone looking for a place to stay in Manchester in the meantime can check out my parent's profile (https://www.couchsurfing.org/people/rebeccaevans/)
If anyone just wants some advice on cool places to hang out in Bristol or Manchester I can possibly meet up and show you around a little depending on when I'm working...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Traveling around the USA for a month during summer 2013. Looking forward to hosting in the future.
Overall I've had great experiences couchsurfing. There's something so refreshing and rewarding about the trust and culture of sharing experiences that couchsurfing promotes!
Interests
I studied philosophy at university but music is really my first love. I play/write/perform/listen to and embrace as much music as possible of all different genres and styles (everything from Tchaikovsky to ABBA!) I'm into politics and I guess I'd consider myself broadly liberal (read: hippy!) but always enjoy listening to different and new ideas and opposing views - it's no fun otherwise!
The highlight of every year for me is the summer festival season and I try to get to as many as possible for a weekend of escapism and enjoying listening to music and spending time with friends (most of them usually newly found over the weekend!)
I also love to cook, especially for others having more or less taught myself since going to university and often inviting friends over for dinner parties.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all sorts of music! Nothing's out of bounds! Discovering new bands in tiny tents at 4 in the morning at music festivals is always fun!
Here's a link to a little of my own music which is very Queen/Muse influenced. (www.soundcloud.com/milo-vito)
I could write pages and pages about music I like but I'll leave it at that for now!
Stanley Kubrick is the only director who springs to mind as a director I truly love although there's lots of others I like too! I do like a good serial TV drama to binge on though (especially with Netflix - Breaking Bad, House of Cards etc!)
I read lots but forget books easily! I just finished Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell and am currently reading The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. Kazoo Ishiguro's 'Never Let Me Go' stands out in my mind too!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Burning Man. So much has been said about this place but it's all so hopelessly inadequate! Go check it out!
Blue whale watching off the coast of San Diego.
I've played some cool gigs in and around Europe with bands like Fredo Viola, I Am Your Autopilot and Whiskycats, all of which were great fun and worth checking out!
Glastonbury Festival in England leaves me awestruck every year. There's not enough space here to give an apt definition but the selection of weird and wacky things to do there is incredible!
Living in America for a year and throwing myself out of my comfort zone, meeting new people (with hopefully many more to come) and experiencing a different culture.
Bugger, that's definitely more than one isn't it!
