Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am able to host some folks while I save up to travel myself. Hopefully I will be able to use some of my vacation time to go travel abroad.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am brand new to the couchsurfing website but I have been sleeping on couches for a long time. When I travelled down to LA to meet up with an old friend, he let me crash on his couch and showed me around LA. He showed me the good things around him, like his favorite cafe, the best place to get a fish taco and a fun beach to check out at night.
Another time I went down to San Diego and met up with a friend of a friend. I had a great time. They invited me to a local party, where I got to meet new people. They showed me a restaurant the next day, called Dick's, where everyone gets to play like they are a dick, even the servers. The server came to the table and gave everyone but me a straw and I said, "Hey what about mine? This is terrible service!". Then the server said "Oh excuse me sir." Then she left and came back with my drink completely filled with straws so much that it would be impossible to drink.

I loved couchsurfing, I met new people but I also got to see what they loved about their city.

Interests

I am currently really into the Indie Music scene. I have been going to shows quite frequently. I am also trying to see more art, but haven't found as many art shows as I have concerts.

I have also been enjoying the nightlife of the mission every once in a while.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am currently into Indie music. I have changed my listening habits from things I find on Pandora to only music that is playing near me soon so that I have a chance to see more live music. In the process I have found many new loved bands. Some examples of new bands I found are: Sea of Bees, Gardens & Villa, Radiation City, La Sera & much more!

My movie choices usually consist of comedy, action, romance or adventure. I almost never watch scary or gruesome movies, unless I am with many other people, but I still don't opt for them first.

As for books, I am in love with fantasy and some scifi. I like the idea of magic. I suppose I wish that there really was magic in the world. My favorite series is Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson, but I love all of his original books. I have not read the Wheel of Time series though. I also really loved the book Weaveworld by Clive Barker. In these titles magic is involved but not in a typical way, such as mages and dragons, but more of a merge with reality.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have recently decided to only listen to music that is playing near me. That way I can go to more shows, and find new amazing music that I would have otherwise never known about.

I have already seen 3 shows that have blown me away because of this.
