About Me

CURRENT MISSION

helping to make this place a better world

ABOUT ME

I try to make this world better by helping people in any way possible. I raised money for different charities through challenges but sometimes, just a smile or a kind word can make a difference. I believe that being happy, share a moment, a chill moment helpes making people better and more open-minded. I love meeting other travellers and already made some good friends while on the road. I also like meeting the local people who always give you a different sight of the places you are visiting. I don't want to be one of those mass tourists, I want to keep my curiosity and discover the world my own way. I try to live by some guide-lines, such as "Life is too short to be anything but happy" and "do one thing that scares you each day"

PHILOSOPHY

-Be the change you want to see in the world

-the world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to host when I can and like sharing time with the CSers I meet. Until now, I haven't had a bad experience! So lets keep it going people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CouchSurfing was in Lisbon, Portugal, at Pedro's place and I think I couldn't have been more lucky. He took me around, showed us some really nice places and we had a really good talk. It was someone very interesting and that you can learn form. Can't wait to be CSing again !Since, I couchsurfed twice in Slovakia and 7 night with 3 different hosts in Turkey and it was a good experience every time. Abdullah, who hosted me in Istanbul, is now someone I am in contact regularly.

As a host: I hosted two German girls from Köln in Bordeaux who had just finished studying for one year in France, Pia and Sarah. I think they had a good time and I keep a very good memory of their time here.

Interests

I love sports, I played basketball, football (soccer), love hiking because of the views and the liberty of it, coached a football (soccer) team of young players and love watching basically any major sports competition. I can get pretty excited but its more about having a reason to get loud and share a beer with some friends. Mostly, I like being outdoors. I also ran two marathons in Toulouse in October 2011 and in Sydney in September 2012 raising money for "Amnesty International Australia". I am interested in photography but can't say I am a photograph, I bought myself a nice camera but have a lot to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all sorts of music. My farther is a Jazz fan so I heard a lot when I was a kid and we try to go once a year to the Marciac Jazz Festival in France. But I like Rock n' Roll, some Pop.. all sorts really. I try to learn to play the guitar, but I'm pretty bad to be honest and hope I could dedicate more time to it... I'm getting a little better though!I don't read as much as I'd like to though I could buy 10 books every time I go to a book shop ! I like books about travels but also about politics because I believe it is important to be aware of what is going on in the world if we want to understand it and make our own opinion, but I also read other stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sat on a beach and watched, in silence, at the sun setting behind the ocean on a (almost) desert beach in Thailand.

Worked at the Olympics in London (2012) and had an incredible time meeting great people.

Hiked almost the whole Pacific Crest Trail (4300km/2700 miles) over 5 month in 2013. Was sadly stopped by rough weather less than a week away from the border but got to meet amazing people and see stunning places. For example, hiked up Mt Whitney, highest mountain in the US out of Alaska and watched the sunset on top and slept there so we could watch the sunrise in the morning before hiking down.

I met great people CSing and just traveling around, some I am still in contact with.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Hungary, Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United States
